Programs are customised as per needs of   the participants and the company’s requirement. Films, simulation, games are part of our training. Some of our  regular (full day or half day) programs are :

Our Harmony center in association with Men against Violence and Abuse (MAVA) organised a screening of the fim "SWADES" followed an interactive session with the director of the fim, Mr.Ashutosh gowariker on Sunday 10th April 2005. It was held at Meghdoot theatre, Vashi for 1000+ students of various schools & colleges of Navi Mumbai. The objective was to sensitize youngsters to the social messages shown in the fim such as gender quality, reverse migration, casteism. We have held awareness programmes on addiction and stress management for persons who have limited access to knowledge, such as groups in slum areas, municipal school childrens, taxi drivers ect.

 

Harmony was started by Hemangi Naik a trained social worker  in 1997 and has on its panel a team of experts for its training programmes- a remedial teacher, occupational therapist, psychiatrist, psychologist, and a  psychiatric social worker

• It works with other NGOs whenever required to synergize and avoid duplication of  efforts. 

The inspiration behind "Harmony Training and Counselling Services" is Mrs Hemangi Kulkarni Naik .

 

About her:

• She is a registered rehabilitation professional with the Rehabilitation Council Of India, Central Government.
• Masters in Medical and Psychiatric Social Work from Tata Institute of Social Sciences.
• Short study in Milan, Italy for studying workers training and counselling in that country
• Was “Social counsellor”  in Larsen & Toubro - Extensive work with troubled employees for alcoholism, psychiatric illness, family problems, marital discord, etc.

Conducted training programs on alcoholism, spouse and children programmes, exhibition on AIDS, mental retardation, etc.
The organisation benefitted immensely as these programs and counselling virtually eliminated  absenteeism, latecoming, accidents, interpersonal problems in the company.
• Wrote a monthly column called Trauma care covering diverse topics like sexual abuse, alcoholism, psychiatric illness, marital discord, etc. in Navi Mumbai special in The Times Of India
